This is a 1933 hard-cover book (see picture) entitled A HISTORY OF MISSOURI FOR HIGH SCHOOLS, written by Jonas Viles. This book, 269 pages and 14 chapters in length, chronicles Missouri from the territorial regime and preparation for statehood to the coming of the railroads and the Twentieth Century. There are a few black and white pictures, too. This book is clean and intact, exhibiting light wear and creasing from handling and storage over the past 91 years. There is some discoloration and staining in the front and back of the book, indicative of age. Except for the original owner's name and a 1934 date in the front, and some light pencil writing on the back four pages, there appears to be no handwriting in the book. It would make a nice addition to your own collection, or it would make a wonderful gift for that Missouri high school student, Missouri historian, or vintage history book collector in your life! Postage is $5.00. And, of course I'll combine postage on multiple purchases. Sorry, NO international shipping. Be sure to check the other items in my eBay store, too!
DJ has some wear. Inside has minor marks. Boards are extremely clean. Spine is good.
Bookplate on the inside front cover Security label on inside rear cover. Label residue to covers.
Covers show some wear, most visibly to corners. Boards have a slight warp. Some mottled yellowing and penciled price inside cover. Small tear and residue to last page of volume 2 is, likely, evidence of the missing folded map. Bindings are sound and free from cracks. Pages are surprisingly crisp, free from marks. Decent readable examples of the original printing. As pictured, prompt shipping (priority with signature confirmation) carefully packed.
